Default My latest car is another Jag

First car I rebuilt was at age 14. A burned out (Lucas!!) 1965 Triumph TR4. Brought a barn find 1952 XK120 back to life in my late teens.
Built a Factory Five Cobra kit car in six months.

Now many years later I rescued a CA sun baked neglected and abused 2005 XK8 (85k miles) Coupe from a dealer. MFG Date 8/4/2004. Paint: Midnight 2003 Mc 1959 , Trim: Cashmere

Fixed the no shift until over 4200 rpm problem as soon as I got off the lot - bad brake switch. Replaced damaged ujoints and damaged axel (bad previous repairs). Replaced rear wheel bearings, brakes, fluids etc. Doing a deep full mechanical on the car. Then it will be on to the interior restoration.
It will be a summer Trip Car for the wife and I.

Play stuff so far:
Refinished cracked center console walnut ring.
Added an antenna UP momentay push button switch. Did a full front hood adjustment and hinge maintenance. Started filling in some of the 40+ chips, nicks and dings.

Welcome to the forum StifeJa,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You'll work through the rest of the issues but you'll NEVER be free of stone chips on the front of an XJ8!

Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
