Default My My Hey Hey

Hello,
I'm a new XF owner. 4 days ago I was planning to replace my 100k mile E90 335i sport package with a new 328d and not even considering a Jag.

Then I stopped by Sil-Terhar on a lark and saw a price that I could live with on a good looking car I knew nothing about. I figured why not drive it? I was very surprised to find a large (to me) car that didn't drive like a boat or cost a fortune. The good sized back seat is important to me as a realtor so I took the plunge on the last day of February and paid $37,000.

Make that $38,000 with a 5 yr, 100k factory warranty. To explain that price, in Colorado people only want all wheel drive so rear wheel drive cars are like ******* step children. However I came from rear wheel drive so I'm not worried and will buy good snow tires next winter regardless.

I had looked at used 5 series bmw's but they drove like buicks to me. Certainly a nice buick but a buick none-the-less. I will say that the 5 series comfort seats are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in bar none. I was also seriously considering a VW CC R line but know that for not much more money I got a much nicer car.

The XF is really good looking but the sweet handling is why I bought it. I was happily surprised to find the one that was discounted be a nice color with wheels I liked. Coming from a faster car I think the 8 speed tranny is terrific and I'm fine with the power. Maybe I've been driving my wives hybrid too much!

Mine is a stripper with no options, so far I'm a little disappointed in not being able to raise or lower the whole seat, only change the seat cushion angle. They seem a bit low for me, but if I could change only one thing I'd make the rear seats fold down. They don't on mine.

I'm going to get a protective tray or mat for the trunk, a Rhino roof rack for bikes, direct wire my V1 radar detector into the rear view mirror and tint the windows. I'm happy to find this forum and got the wiring adapter I'll be using from a useful post.

I'll add a picture of the car next.
