Default n00b from Iowa

Hi.

I'm a newbie, or n00b as my son says. Purchased a 2002 X-Type 3.0 last winter and love it. Mostly.

I've trolled this forum for quite some time as I've experienced a few of the normal X-Type issues. A huge shout out to all the members that have posted suggestions, solutions, and especially pictures. I'm "handy" (if they don't find you handsome...) but not a seasoned mechanic. I've memorized several responses from MIKELWMS and Dennis Black and y'all have saved me tons of cash and time. Hopefully some day I can help pay that back.

I actually chose the X for it's AWD since we do get a fair amount of snow around here and I'm not looking for something to take up space in the garage for better than half of the year. I've got a perfectly nice boat for that.

So anyway, that's me.

Howdy Eric! Where in Iowa are you from? When I was a child I used to stay at a farm in Iowa for a week or two each summer. It was a little farm outside of a small town called Rowley, which is near Independence, which is near Waterloo. It was a blast. We'd inner tube in the creek and do lots and lots of bass fishing in the creeks. The bass weren't huge, but nearly every time we'd cast the line we'd reel in a fish. It was great. I miss those days. I also got to help milk the cows.

Howdy Reverend! Technically not "from" Iowa - I was an Air Force brat and moved around as a kid. Moved to IA on a dare 20-ish years ago, went to IA State (Go 'Clones!) and now work in West Des Moines, live just north of the big city. I know someone from Rowley but can't put my finger on who. It'll come to me...

Hello Erik and welcome to jaguarforums.com.

If you haven’t already you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for. To do this go to, User CP, Edit Signature, Add Vehicle Details and such and Save Your Signature.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Also, should you have questions related to your vehicle please post it in the section for your model year (MY) car. This way you will reach all the members that are familiar with your MY car.
