Default Need Info on 97 XJ6

Looking to purchase my first Jaguar which is a 1997 XJ6. Car has 101000 miles. Nice shape and maintained by owner. Anything I should be wary of when purchasing this car? Owner recently did brakes, fuel gauge and headliner. Inside mirror needs replacement but that's all I could see wrong. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Steve O

The car you have selected is reckoned by most Jaguar experts to the the car that put the word 'reliable' back into the Jaguar lexicon.

Be aware, however, that it is now 13 years old, so you are reliant on all the previous owners doing the right maintenance and not ignoring things like little "squeaking" noises and various other noises-off, and leaks here and there.

When I took it for test drive, clunk r/s frt end over bumps. I read here it could be simple shock bushings.

usually the upper rubber gromets(bushings) are dried out and compressed, and are deterioting. Its an easy repair, beat the seller down on the price. great car you should not be sorry if you buy it.

Car has been great so far. Replaced shock bushings, antenna mast, LOF, tranny service. Just hood supports, clock and radio LCD repair and it is 100%.
