Default Need thoughts n help please bout to lose my mind

I have a 2014 jaguar XF 3.0 AWD supercharged … so other night the engine overheating light came on but went right off … son next day drove it some I notice steam coming from under hood parked let it cool down but 45
mins den put a whole jug of antifreeze… most off if not all of hit straight out to da ground . I Got almost home which is 15 mins way it start loosing power and stem starts coming out again and they da vents. … so I cut the car tried to restart but wouldn’t and still won’t crack it trying to tho… my mechanic can checked in said it’s n limp mode and dat I had a busted water line or hose …. Has anyone else had dis problem? And he said the car is n LIMP MODE .. it’s tryin to crank but won’t turn over

I suggest a re-ask in the XF (X250) Tech Section, down the Homepage a tad.

Not too many Trch members come in here, as it is the Intro Section mainly.

NEVER, NEVER drive if the engine is hot!
Did you check the fluid levels after you got your error? It's cheap insurance to check fluids.

Yes. With a massive coolant leak like the OP, even if you turn off the engine almost immediately, it can be damaged. Forcing it to drive you home until it can barely run is game over for the engine.
