New 2002 XK8 owner -- Arkansas

Purchased a 2002 XK8 convertible (carnival red) for my wife for our 10th wedding anniversary. Have been looking for a dark blue one for several years, but never could get one that was low miles and low bucks. Found our XK8 at a Jag dealer in San Antonio -- miles only 38K and the price was right. Flew to San Antonio, picked up by the dealer, spent a few days in the city celebrating our anniversary and then drove the car home to Arkansas. Second vehicle that I've purchased via the internet without first seeing or driving it in person. So far the gamble has paid off!

Can't go wrong there! Great story about your new purchase.

I highly recommend reading all (or most of) the threads/documents we have linked and provided in the FAQ thread at the top of the XK8/R forum area...they're great, and you'll learn exactly what your car's strengths and weaknesses are.

For instance...get the pressure reducing valve for the top hydraulic system...unless the dealer shows they've been replaced with the higher pressure rated stuff.
