So I finally bit the bullet and decided to fulfil a childhood dream and went to Sheffield and bought an XJ6 at the weekend. I gave them my old Rover 75 (which I bought for £250), and gave them £250 cash. In return I got a beautiful red XJ6, interior in excellent condition - no significant wear to upholstery. All electronics working and AC ice cold. Engine quiet and eager, kickdown working great (!). Last two MOTs have been passed with no advisories. Needless to say I was grinning the whole way home! Got my first complement 15 mins into the journey when I stopped for petrol. The guy said it was so quiet as it pulled in that it sounded like it was switched off!

The downsides: there is significant dent to passenger door, small damage to front bumper and indicator cover. Some rust on wheel arches. Hoping to get some quotes for the dents and rust. Would certainly appreciate any advice/recommendations on any of these.......!

Chris
