Default New bloke from Melbourne, Australia.

Just a hello from a newbie from downunder. An intro ... Almost two years ago I bought a written of wreck 1997 XK8 coupe on ebay. It's finally back rolling and lookin' and drivin' good. Its RHD and the damage was to the RHS rear quarter and the rear end/suspension. BAD !! After buying the wreck I found out there were no XK8s being broken in Australia (surprise!) so it's been an interesting journey dealing with rogues and thieves and also REAL nice blokes from around the world to get the bits we needed. I've been into Jags for quite a while and know my Series IIIs ( 4.2 and 5.3) inside out. There's currently 6 cats in the fleet, but we'll get to that. I like buying my Jags unloved and lavishing TLC on them. It's very satisfying and they deserve it !!
Regards to all for now.

Welcome to the forum Peter,

Sounds like you run a bit of a cat's rescue home for Jags.
Keep up the good work.

Default Thanks for the welcome!

Yes.. it is a bit of a "lost cats" home. They get so well looked after , that none seem to want to leave! Our climate is quite car friendly, no snow, delightful autumns ( fall ), summers a bit hot (for the leather) but you can normally find some shade. Thanks for the "upgrade".

Welcome to the forum Peter, if you're looking to adopt a poor, cold, northern Yankee, I'm sure I can talk the wife and kids into coming with me!

Thanks Gordo. I see we own pretty much the same beast & similar colour. 1997 XK8 coupe. I'm a "shape" guy and I much prefer the tin-top to the convertible. This is my first "new" Jag. First 2 door. Awesome car. Feels a lot more cosy in the cabin than I expected. I am enjoying it immensely.
