New F-Type Owner in MD
Hello all,
I'm a little late getting around to this, but I purchased a base, F-Type roadster in June, I'm absolutely loving this car, and I'm a first-time Jaguar owner. Having owned many high-performance vehicles over the years (C6 Z06, 3 later generation M3s, Audi RS4), and a Lotus Elise tossed into the mix along with a number of classic old "muscle cars," I've never enjoyed a new car more than the F-Type.
I debated going with the V8 S, but this will be a nearly daily driver for me, and having owned plenty of high-horsepower vehicles in similar service, I've decided that there can be such a thing as too much power in the sense that you can't really use it in the real world. After all, it's the power/weight ratio that's most important, and if you're at 10 lbs/HP you've got more than enough--in fact also too much for the real world. Thus, I've been pleasantly surprised that the power in the base engine is more than ample, and I'm very impressed with the neutral balance of the car, as well as the handling.
I have about 2K miles so far, and so far it's been flawless. I'm looking forward to following this forum closely.
All the best, Foosh
