Proud owner of a 2004 XJ8 woth only 80,034 miles on it. I was sitting in a garage unkept for 5 years . I (me) did the normal fluid replacements purchased new tires and it driove like a dream. My blower motor for my ac isn’t working and I live in Austin, TX. It’s hot here and that was my urgent fix till last night. I have read this forum and am pretty sure I have to replace resistor relay ? last night I pulled out of my driveway and shifter got stuck in reverse. I couldn’t restart it so I just roll parked iit in the street in front of my neighbors house. Now I’m not sure what’s wrong with it. I prefer to work on my cars myself. Most simple things I can do my self. Transmissions are not something I have worked on. Can someone give me some idea or help on what happened to my car. I also read that I can get the part I need for blower motor from Range Rover way cheaper . All and any help much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum I'm also a new XJ8 owner, 2004 and they are quite the car. I'm just about 30 minutes north on I-35 from you. There is an active Jag owners group in Austin. Sorry I can't give any advice on your problems. If it's your gearshift lever that is stuck, I've seen a YouTube video on how to release it. If you post in the X350 forum you might get some productive posts on fixing your car, this is just an intro area.
