Hi all. Found this forum and it looks like a great one for info. Have not purchased a Jag yet, but we are looking. We are looking at 87-92 XJ-S for a fun summer type car. We live in the mountains of Idaho so a Jaguar is for summer only. We have a 90 and a 92 Audi V8's for our winter drivers. From the looks of things there are a lot of XJ's out there for sale and at decent prices. Any advise is appreciated.

Check for fuel leaks around the fuel rail. These like to burn and it's easily prevented. If it's a 89.5 and up. Plan to change cap and rotor. They are expensive! They are heavy cars, so suspension components take a pounding. Shocks, ball joints, and all bushings. Check for leaks in engine and power steering racks particularly. Check around the windsheild for rust bubbles in the paint.
Hey there kentnsuzi.......welcome to the forum

Ken is no doubt offering sound advice as he is one of our "gurus" on these older models.
Good luck n happy hunting!

If I'm not mistaken, these also came with a few electrical question marks right? Nothing to serious, just something to consider. Check anything electrical with the car i.e.: power windows, seats, etc.

Thanks for the welcome and the information. I will keep those things in mind as we are looking. I will probably end up buying off the internet as there are few Jaguars for sale in the mountains of Idaho. Thanks for all the heads up on things.
