Its true I have a 1994 XJ-6, it has a few issues but I am glad to have my first jaguar. I am Pizza-E on the Porsche 928 Forums and have always worked on cars. I used to have a few ASE certs but now I do Social type "work"


Alternators (2) test good bu will only charge momentarily when installed on my xj6. I stimulated the exciter manually and it clicks on for a second then turns off, it will do this repeatedly if I remove and re-apply power to the exciter or stater or whatever the proper term is. I think it sounds like a ground issue maybe but any input is always appreciated.

I hope you can get your alt problem ironed out. There is a section on this forum where you can look at or download a manual for your model.... at least there was.. You might try looking there to see if theres a component you arent thinking of. Good luck!
