New guy with two fairly old Jags
Greetings, I'm Mike Motsay (MLM) from NJ and FL. My wife, Mary, always wanted a Jag and I have always enjoyed the marque. So, we've been through a couple 1988, 1989 sedan models. We now have a 1998 VDP (X308) and a 2005 XK (X100). I believe the designations are correct. The 1998 was purchased in 2000 with 9500 miles; now 181,000. The XK arrived in 2008 with 30,000; now 72,000 miles. I have been through the frustration mill on both, but I cannot seem to separate myself from them. The front seats and paint are done on VDP and I want to redo the car. The XK is basically fine, spare, the damn window drop on the driver's door continually misbehaves. Oh, I've tried the reset innumerable times. It did work for time.
As for me. Mid sixties, retired airline pilot. The miles on me aren't showing too badly, but definitely there. I've been searching for a pilot position but apparently age discrimination is still alive and well with the FAA. My wife Mary, is a Flight Attendant and still working.

Welcome to the forum Mike,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
The X100 is either an XK8 (normally aspirated) or XKR (supercharged). The XK designation came in with the later aluminium bodies model from 2006.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj8-xjr-x308-27/ to the X308 forum and this one https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
