New to the Jag Family
Good afternoon! My name is Dave, and I hail from Grand Rapids, Michigan USA.
We recently acquired our first Jaguar, a 2008 X-Type with 160,000 miles. I found it through an old friend who was advertising it on Facebook. My daughter saw it and instantly fell in love!
The suspension is worn, but it definitely is still plenty fun to drive! She bought this car knowing that it needed some work, and that we are going to enjoy the process of bringing this car back to its full potential together. It's far from perfect, but with service records in hand, it's a solid driver and should provide her with several years of reliable fun. For only $900.00 USD, it's well worth the money spent!
I have been a mechanic since I bought my first car, a 1970 VW Beetle, in 1983. Electrical and mechanical are my strengths. Bodywork is my least skilled area, and my least favorite.
Looking forward to the journey together with the forum to help us along the way!

Your daughter has Very good taste to fall in love with her new Jaguar. That also means she'll take good care of it.
As you're skilled at mechanics and electrical, you'll have little trouble keeping her X-type purrrrrrring.
