Default New Jag Owner - key remote probs

Hello from Australia.

I just took delivery of a 1998 X308 LWB with the 4 litre engine that I bought sight unseen at auction recently. For a 20 yr old car it is in impeccable condition, but missing the Owner's Manual.

I have a question about the key/remote. When I press the red button on the remote, all the doors lock except the driver's. If I press the button again, nothing happens. The drivers' door will trigger the alarm if you then open it, but I would rather it just locked with the others. What do I need to do to make the remote lock all 4 doors at once?

Welcome to the forum AussieJagOwner,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

My first thought on that door issue is a failed microswitch in the door latch.

Follow this link XJ XJ8 / XJR ( X308 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Australia New South Wales/ACT Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...-wales-act-93/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
