Default New Jaguar owner, not very pleased... Okay now I am happier because of this forum! :)

Hello fellow Jag owners. My wife INSISTED on buying a 2002 X Type 3.0 Auto transmission. So far it has been back to the people who sold it to her at least 9 times with no resolution to our problems. I stumbled upon this forum searching for answers so I can just fix the $^*& thing myself. I am a marine electrician with 41 years experience, working on everything from your basic diesel boat to robotics. I can't get the used car dealer to give me a printout of the codes and I am actively trying to get our X type to our euro guy to get scanned. Until then I am eagerly reading all the GREAT information available here!!!!

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
Hope you can get to the bottom of it, you can buy a cheap code reader that will give you what you need.

If you haven't already done so you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

I'm sure you'll get the answers you need here. As I've said before I wouldn't have bought a Jaguar without this forum.
As Norri says a cheapo code reader is invaluable - but make sure it gives you live data as well as just the codes. There's a whole thread on OBD readers on the forum.
I think all modern cars are so complex it's a miracle they work at all. Give me a Perkins and a big hammer any time !
