New member; proud X308 owner.

Hello to all,

As a new memeber I thought I would introduce myself. I am from London and my pride and joy is a sapphire blue 98 x308 xjr with 89k on the clock.
I have had it for 6 years now, and do approxamtely 3k a year (mainly weekends or long journeys).

Overall it has been a delight to own, and a pleaure to work on; but the last 9 months has been trying, as she has suffered a few more problems than usual! (the old water pipes under the supercharger "game", failed fuel injector relay) and now the latest one which is worrying me the most:

Under hard(ish) acceleration the car gets to a certain "load" and the torque delivery is aggressively interruted (it feels as if someone is applying the brakes). The car stutters then carries on. During these events I get a flickering "traction control fail" amber light and sometimes the ASC function light (note that the car is not actually breaking traction).

The car has also started to do this under much lighter load in constant 5th gear on the motorway - which is fairly dangerous when going for an overtake!

Your help and advice would be much appreciated

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
