Thumbs up New Member

Hi guys my name is Walter i live in the south bay ca. I have owned several jags over the years. Getting ready to retire and wanted something to keep me busy. So i went looking at what was out there i liked, I was lucky i found a 1999 XK8 conv. 2 owner with full service history and 68000 on the clock, silver with black interior. That's when i found jag forum and my work started, first was the timing chain issue had it checked out and found i had the old chains and tensioners. I had them replaced at my local independent jag shop it was above my skill level. to date i have completely rebuilt front and rear suspension , complete braking system front and rear. New fuel pump ,fuel filter, fuel regulator.Cooling system flush using Go5 anti freeze all new hoses.cross over pipe, aluminium thermostat housing, water pump, coolant tank, injectors. My next task is real guages and trans service. i want to thank all the forum members for information i was able to access to help me complete the above work. thanks again Walter.

Welcome aboard Walter.

From what I read it would seem the chains wouldn't have been above your skill level, they just sound scary.

So glad this forum was of help. Regards,Neil

Welcome to the forum Walter,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the USA Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
