Hi - My name is Dave Ritchie and I have a 1998 XJ8L . Beautiful car with only 83,000 Miles. Just joined the forum this morning because driving this car is a great experience but when something goes wrong its not so great . Luckily I was a mechanic in my youth and have some experience working with cars . Seems like every couple of weeks there is a new issue . But I hope to keep this car and may need help from the forum.

Hello, Dave,
When you think about it, it's not too surprising that a car 18 years old needs some care. But every little thing you fix successfully gives you such pleasure that you can face the next little thing (or BIG thing) with more confidence!
Well, that was my experience anyway.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
