Hello. I'm a newly licensed teenager from Indiana and I'm a pretty extreme car nut. I'm currently driving a Saturn Ion beater that I was given until I save up the money to buy my own car. I like cheap, and I like luxury. So naturally I joined the Jaguar forum to learn as much as I can about used XJ sedans. I've heard that the 96' and 97' inline 6 cars are pretty solid all around and comparitively easy to keep running compared to similar luxury cars, so that's my current focus. The older XJ's are my favorite models, and some of my favorite cars because they're probably the most beautiful vehicles I've ever seen. But I'm open to other years and models as I find out more about them all.

Welcome to the forum drevj12,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You heard right about the 1995-97 straight six XJ, otherwise known by its factory code X300. They have a good reputation.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xjr6-x300-26/ to the X300 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

You can also visit the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
