Hello all, new member here and this is my story. I just bought my second ever Jaguar (my first was a now long gone beloved 1968 XKE) a 2004 silver/black XJR with 93,000 miles.
I drove 400 miles to inspect, evaluate, and purchase from a seller who stated he was a master mechanic for high end cars. He had three exotics in his garage. Car looked good
inside and out and drove well for its age and mileage. Sealed the deal and was on my way home. About 45 minutes later the restricted performance light came and I thought
what the finger puppet. Still in unfamiliar territory I called the seller when I could. News to him, suggested I try ignition off and on, door lock reset, then battery when I could.
Light went off then reappeared later. When I got home I scanned and cleared the code (P1474) worked fine for about 10 days and repeated, still working on this issue.
So far I have replaced the worn out wiper blade inserts from instructions here and replaced the rear brake and ebrake pads, very simple if you know what your doing, I do now.
Great resources here, Thank You
