As a young kid growing up in England, for years I had a newspaper delivery route that I would cycle one per week, pushing a property-related newspaper into each of the one of the front-door mailboxes in a fairly well-to-do neighborhood.
As I would head up the driveways to make the deliveries I would see many nice and expensive-looking cars but the one car that really stuck with me was the Jag XJS.
The one I would regularly see was a coupe, but occasionally I'd see a convertible - quite an exotic car for gloomy old England.
Many years later I now live in Los Angeles. One weekend, heading in to work for some overtime, I saw a black XJS Convertible in the parking lot. Quite a head-turning car any day of the week, but especially since I hadn't seen one in years.
I mentioned it to one of my colleagues, and to my surprise it turned out to be his.
Long story short, a year or two later he retired and his retirement plans did not include the Jag, so very late in 2019 I was able to buy from him what is now my 1993 Black XJS Convertible 4.0.
Although I know it is not 'perfect', it is in pretty good condition and runs well. Apparently I'm the 3rd person lucky-enough to own it.
My colleague had previously pointed out that he would regularly get comments whenever he drove the car, and my experience is the same as his, everything from the passing "...Nice Car!" to the 'What type of car is that?"
I'll wrap this up here for now, but I have several things I'm looking to sort out and my initial review of this forum suggests this is a great place for me to seek answers and suggestions.
Looking forward to connecting to this community, and especially getting in touch with anyone else out here in Los Angeles. I'm close to where the 10 freeway crosses the 57.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Yes, yes, Oh so very YES!! THIS will be my next Jaguar (in BLACK of course), I decided the very first time I saw one.
