Purchased a '99 XK8 a couple months ago when I was visiting relatives in Dallas. Fun story. Purchased at night, from a neighbor, just looked under the car cover and said i will take it. I used to work on Triumphs and Austin Healeys when i was in high school. Never owned a Jag before. My wife and I proceeded to drive it back to California across the southwest. One of the funnest trips of my life. Spent a lot ofthe trip just taking pictures of the car. The car made it, although just barely. I have been through a few repairs, but the car just has soo much character. I love it.

There are some small sections of Route 66 still there. Nice place for a speed test.
That was a brave way to get into Jaguar ownership.

Hello, Winston,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
I'll bet you had a Blast driving that home! Like any landing you walk away from is a good landing, any trip you make it home in a new used car is a good trip. Buying as good as sight unseen is already a pretty good story.
If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.
