Lightbulb New Member - 2009 XF Portfolio

Hi All,
Have owned this car for about 3 years, have found the forum interesting for all manner of issues. I was a bit disheartened that my XF had the base sound system, and a meaningful upgrade looked impossible because of the integrated nature of the head unit to the touchscreen interface. I have recently discovered a plug and play solution made by a German manufacturer which is aimed at providing an upgrade path for OEM sound in new vehicles. Audiotech Fischer make a range called "Match" that uses vehicle specific wiring harnesses to connect your head unit to a range of DSP multi-channel amplifiers. Of course they don't have a harness for the XF, but after a bit of research, I discovered that my head unit (Supplied to Jaguar by Ford, like much of the electricals), shares it's inputs with Volvo units from 2006- 2012, and they do make a harness that will fit.
I will very soon be adding a 7 channel DSP amp with 800 watts, active crossover control, soundfield processing and a 200 watt subwoofer concealed in the spare tyre. I will also be upgrading the low cost speakers with high-end aftermarket units and having the entire system tuned to the interior. It promises to be superior to the premium Harmon Kardon offering and would not have been possible when I purchased the car. Will post some pics and further information soon...

Welcome to the forums Jeffster,

Good to have you with us.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the X150 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Australia - Victoria / Tasmania Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...a-tasmania-94/ to find other members in your region.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
