new member 2011 XK and 2012 XJL
Hello Jag folks...
I have been a frequent participant on the Pontiac forums for both my 1967 GTO and 1971 Grand Prix and have found the members to be wealth of information as I performed a complete restoration on both vehicles. Most mechanics today are younger than my cars, so the forum seems to have the real gear-heads that know the nuts, bolts, and quirks of each of the old cars.
While both my Jags have been pretty trouble free since new, the XK has begun to have a couple problems just during the past couple months. I'll expound to a greater extent on the problems that are cropping up on the XK in the portion of the forum dedicated to that area.
As for the XJL...it is a pure joy to drive. My wife and I just got back home on the west coast of California last week after driving to Illinois and back...logged 6170 miles and averaged 28.4 miles per gallon, even through Wyoming and Utah where the speed limit was 80mph and the slower traffic seemed to be moving at almost 90. In fact, I was running a bit over 85 and missed seeing the Utah cop in my review mirror before he overtook me and passed going about 95....never looked back. I guess he was late for lunch.
Be well and enjoy your cars...
