Hello! As a new member I am trying to get some info on my 1986 xj6 vanden plas it has sat for a while before I acquired it and I can get it to start but after a bit it quits running. Any suggestions?

 

Welcome. If you ask your question in the "series" forum I'm sure you have it going later today. I am assuming it's not the xj40 of course.....

Is your 1986 XJ6 VdP an XJ6 Series III ........




....... or the later XJ6 a.k.a. XJ40:



Jaguar used the XJ6 badging on five completely different models between 1968 and 2009 so it gets very confusing. Both of these were marketed in 1986.
