First Jaguar was a 1987 XJ6. Had it for a week - was buying it from an elderly neighbor and friend who couldn't drive any more. He had it serviced before offering it to me for next to nothing. I drove it a week before buying - and it nearly killed me at a light.

Light was red, I was waiting for it to turn green. Suddenly the engine revved and lurched towards the car ahead of me. The brake wasn't holding the beast back, and I pulled the emergency brake, and it dumped gasoline. The emergency brake held her back and then I drove it back home and said no thanks.

I am in the market for a low miles XJ6 with no rust and as few problems as possible. When the drive well, they are dreams. Anyway, coming back around in my thinking.

There was definitely something amiss with that car! It's too bad your first experience was so bad.

Hopefully further experiences will be much better.

Welcome from ElinorB.
