Default New Member - Dead Battery

Hi just joined today, I purchase a Jag XF Portfolio, went away on vacation, came back after 10 days, car parked in unheated garage but not below freezing and battery was dead.

I bought the car from dealer in US, imported to Canada.

1. How do I transfer platinum coverage?

2. Can i just call Jag roadside assistance for boost?

3. Is battery covered under warranty, car has 10,000 miles?

Thanks in advance and cool forum.

Welcome to the forum jazzerman,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Later model Jaguars are very sensitive to battery condition and it's a good plan to use a battery tender if leaving one for any length of time.

Follow this link XF and XFR ( X250 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XF/XFR forum for help, advice and information.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Canada Region forum by following this link Canada - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region who will be able to advise on the complexities of US imports.

Enjoy the forums.

Welcome from fellow Canadian. I see you've found your way to our dedicated regional section.

I believe the US warranty applies in Canada reading what others in your situation have reported. The advice regarding a tender is good, but a one year old battery should not go flat in just ten days, best keep an eye on things.

Thanks, the dealer in North York just got back to me 5 minutes ago. There is a headlight modification to do and a safety then the warranty kicks in automatically. As far as the battery goes it seems to be charging, I'll keep you posted.
