I've been reading a lot of the posts as a guest for a month or so and finally decided to join up and say hi to ya'll.
I just purchased my previously loved 97 xk8 back in December. It was love at first sight but sadly she is waiting for me to bring her home once the snow is gone. Till then, I'm excited to learn from all you guys/gals!
Thanks for all he help so far!
DR

Besides the regular stuff, I can't find any info on installing a double din audio system, which I am aware will be a lot of work and the associated moving switches from dash to armrest storage area.
The night is young and the search is on!
Hoping to find some fellow Canadians kicking around so I will check that out for sure !

A small number of members have taken on this kind of upgrade on XK8 and XJ8.

Quite a challenge - have fun!

Sadly mine is a coupe... I see an upgrade to drop top in about 1.5 years. Just in time for my mid life crisis.
Maybe I should start looking now!
Happy to see another Canuck on here even if it's in the other side of the country.
I did live in Moncton for a few years and loved it

I think the coupes are better looking, and I really wanted a white XKR coupe I found down in the states. however it had issues I wasn't prepared to address. Then I found the blue convertible and have no regrets on that purchase. A proper mid life crisis would include the coupe and the convertible!

Question I was hoping y'all could help out with. I want to post a new topic. I'm looking for the upper dash panel, where the navigation goes. I want the nav trim piece to modify and accept double din up high. I don't know how to start a new thread and where it should go. .

So Graham put a link to the XK8 forum in his post. You can click that, and click "New Thread" somewhere at the top to start a thread in the appropriate place. Of course you already figured out the new member area. There's also an off-topic forum and a regional forum (again see Graham's post). The regional forum will have meets and local advice, while the off-topic is anything non-jaguar related (jokes and such). Best of luck and welcome!

Welcome, DRettaler!

May I suggest that the first warm day you can drive the XK8 you take a nice long drive to Jasper and down to Banff, with stops at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake... Some of the greatest Jaguar drives on earth are right in your back yard!

Cheers,

Don
