Thanks for accepting me into the community.

My name is Brandon and today I purchased a 1998 Jaguar XJR. I honestly had no intentions of purchasing a Jaguar when I woke up, I just happened to stumble upon what I thought was a good project at a fair price.

The car is already tucked away on my lift waiting for some attention tomorrow.

I look forward to the interaction on this site and hope to contribute my knowledge from other areas of the industry.

Thanks again,
Brandon

Hello, Brandon,
Where have I heard that story before?? I had no intention of owning a Jaguar when I woke up that morning either. They seem to worm their way into our hearts like nothing else. I can't tell from the photo, is it Black (my favorite) or is it dark green?

Welcome from ElinorB.

ElinorB, the car is a dark green...Black would have been a bonus! The paint will need to be shot and blended on the roof and trunk, but overall it is in fairly good condition.

I spent much of the afternoon looking at the aftermarket performance offerings, and I wasn't overly impressed. Being that I don't know how to leave anything alone, I bet you can expect to see some interesting fabrication

Default Welcome to Jaguar Forums

Wecome Brandon ... and greetings from down under in Australia.

Yes, the passion is universal, and it's great to have you join us. Norri's advice in post #2 is excellent ... and I will only add a couple of suggestions ...
  • from the forum home page scan down to, then jump into the model specific forum that matches your new beastie ... plenty of resources to download, and heaps of reading material too;
  • at top left end of the forum home page, open User CP, then click on Edit Signature to add your growler's Year, Model, Engine Variant etc; thus ensuring any technical advice you receive is accurate;
  • similarly, you can use Edit Avatar to append a pic or logo to your User Name in all posts.
All for you Brandon, so jump in and enjoy,
Ken

Welcome to the forum Brandon,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Follow Norri's link in post #2 to the X308 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
