Default New member here.

Hello.
I've been reading at this forum for a month or so and because of this forum I bought my first Jaguar.

I found a 2003 Jaguar S Type R at a nearby dealer and made sure everything that was suggested to checkout before my purchase was done.

My Jaguar is Platinum silver with 81,600 miles. This weekend I'm going to tackle the AC/heater problem. My wife absolutely loves this car. It's her dream car and I'm just happy to make her dream come true. We haven't put but a couple few hundred miles on her but WOW what a car.

I'm not one to put pictures of myself or family on the interwebz but I really don't have a problem with putting a few pictures of the car on here. I should be able to post some this weekend after she gets detailed again.

Thanks for all the info, especially in the stickies, they have been most informative. Had to check this forum just to see what a left side repeater was. What an interesting way to say change a turning signal bulb.

I hope to be a contributing member of the forum as time goes on with my own experiences with our lovely rocket ship.

Thanks again for this forum.

My husband showed me a Craig's List photo of an Xj6 SII once, and said it was his all time favorite dream car. Then he bought it for me! LOL

Welcome to the forums, from ElinorB.

Hello.

When I asked my old lady what type of car she wanted she said jokingly "A Jaguar!". She's still in shock we got one. It is funny how it's his dream car and you got one. LOL

Well it was nice to meet you and thanks for the welcome. Later

Hi and welcome Xstatic,

After my wife settled into our near new Series 2 V12 Daimler VanDenPlas many years ago, I invested in her attending Advanced Driving course. She was a natural ... and on some of our lonely country highways, pushed it to the limit with great skill and enormous panache ... at least, that's how she referred to the wicked speeds she achieved.

Best wishes,
Ken

Ken, I can see right now that your wife would be a woman after my own heart, and we would get on famously!

In fact, by the above description we have similar driving styles; except that due to circumstances, I'm forced to practice my craft on sometimes crowded highways.

I might have to 'borrow' that term, "Enormous Panache," as I absolutely Love it as a description of my own driving.

I haven't yet had the opportunity for driving school, but you can be sure I'll jump at the chance if I ever get it.

Thanks for the Welcome. We had a Sock Hop in my town yesterday and saw a couple of sweet Jaguars driving around. I thought we had the only STR around here but saw one yesterday.Wonder if it was someone from here? I'll take some pictures some time this week and post them.

Unhappy Just got a 2003 Jag

Hi I just a 2003 Jag Sorry type for 7.8k with 122k miles on it from a dealer. It's my 1st car. It's beautiful, but I'm scared of the costs after reading posts. Got it from a Honda dealer. They said they will brakes and wheel alignment issues along with all safety checks. I'm still worried. KBB value is similar for 4.0 engine for 130k miles. Any advice for me?
