Default New Member Intro

Hello Jaguar Folks:

My Girl had a Jaguar many years ago and was always “missing it”. Around the holidays she ran into the owner and he stated it had not been on the road in many-many years so we bought it a second time, lol!

1989 XJS Convertible, navy blue paint with tan interior and black top. Marelli ignition. 50K-miles

Did not run at all upon receipt. Engine and wiring are a giant greasy/hacked/cut/spliced-mess from years of poor maintenance and neglect. A buffet of mistakes on this car.

I got the car running and did not drive it one inch. Took it apart to some degree and going through car front to back. I am an aircraft mechanic (and aircraft engine builder) by trade, but this engine is certainly unique. I look forward to assistance and continuing to learn from other members as well as getting this girl on the road again!

Phillip

Welcome to the Forums.

Very smart idea after all those years and apparent neglect.

Good luck.

Always think of the Jag V12 as 2 X 6 cyls, on a common crankcase, coz that is what they are.
