Hi I am Nigel from Adelaide South Australia and have just bought a 2000 XJ8 after driving another British marque for many years I wont mention but have now come back to Jags after a long break. Sadly the elderly previous owner of my XJ8 was unable to drive the car very far for several years due to someone mixing up the two outlets on the radiator expansion tank, evidently a common problem and this forum solved it for me .So thanks very much. I now know the the pipe to the radiator goes on the left hand side on the expansion tank and the overflow on the right hand side .they cross over was the key advice form the forum
