Default New member Jaguar S type 1966

Second go at this - seems I got everything wrong on my first attempt.
I am in Victoria, Australia, and have a 1966 S-type I have owned for 30 odd years.
Both my daughters came home from hospital in it when they were born, and it is my hope it will be their wedding car when the time comes.
Until recently I owned two 3.8 Mk 10s, one a long term restoration that I had for twenty years, and the other a running version I bought in frustrationabout 15 years ago when the first one was taking so long, and I had never actually driven a Mk 10.
I was not dissapointed in driving the Mk10, and had the original one in new paint with refurbished wood and new leather, and centrelock chrome wire wheels custom made for the car as they were never offered as an option.
The driver car had refurbished wood and new leather, but a major falling out with my long term mechanic left both cars undrivable with no fuel tanks due to rusted out items being lost after being sent off for repair.
I retrieved both cars pre covid, but had to finally admit that there weren't enough weekends left in my life to get these cars drivable let alone drive them. I disposed of the pair of them almost for nothing to try and hang on to my sanity, and give someone else the responsibility of getting them back on the road.
Let's see if I can post a photo of my S type

Welcome to the Forums.

The MK X is a handful if left to the elements, and other things.

Good looking S.

Welcome to the forums Nozza,

Good to have you with us. As I wrote in my eMail, your S Type looks superb.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/m...40-daimler-61/ to the MKI / MKII S type 240 340 & Daimler forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Australia - Victoria / Tasmania Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...a-tasmania-94/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started. I know you've made a few visits to that thread already but you did threaten not to read it!

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
I'm sorry for all your trouble with your herd of cats.
Sometimes Reality rears its ugly head and we must cut our losses.
However, it's a Very nice looking S-type you've kept.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
