Default New member, old car

Hi all! Bought a 2003 X-Type last summer for my son's first car. It is a typical 16 year old car, and needs some work from time to time, but it has been a reliable whip for him. All his friends think he's cool because he drives a Jag! He actually sought it out because he wanted a vehicle with a manual trans that was NOT a Focus or other "tin can". He likes the fact it is all wheel drive because sometimes these Michigan winters will catch you off guard. I like the car because it's solid, doesn't leak, and is an all-around good ride for anyone, even a teenage kid! I'm sure I'll have many questions as I get into working on it, as this is the first non-Big 3 car I've owned. I come from a GM family so buying foreign when I was young was frowned upon. Looking forward to good conversations from you all.

Hello, David,
Your son will certainly know which car in the lot is his without having to memorize the plate #.
Where/when I was growing up, driving a Furrin car was grounds for Banishment from the community, so you can imagine the response when it got around I had a Jaguar of all things!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the Forums.

Well done "Son", very clever, and will go far in Jaguar Land.

My first car was a 1954 Jaguar MK7, on the memories.

Good luck both of you.
