Hello . . .

My father was a very sane, sensible, and conservative man, who only did one crazy thing in his life - in 1958 he bought a very slightly used 1957 Mark 1. As a car-mad teenager I was totally smitten by that fabulous machine. (To show you how sensible he was, he never let me drive it!) Jaguars are in my DNA, as you will see.

I'm a Chemical Engineer, retired after a career in the oil refining business. I divide my time between southern Ontario, Canada, in the summer and Florida in the winter. Eight years ago I had the opportunity to buy a very low mileage 1990 XJ-S convertible, signal red over black. I keep it in Ontario. And then a year ago I bought a 2001 XK8 convertible, silver over black, which I keep in Florida.

SIx years ago my son, who was living in England, called me and said that he'd been promoted and the company had taken away his company car but given him a healthy car allowance. He got himself an XF. So it seems that Jaguar is in the family DNA.

Welcome to the Forums.

Yep, my dad had a MK IV when I arrived, and the rest is simple, and my kids, same DNA.

Good luck.
