New member in Oxford. Starting an XJR 100 project
Hi Everyone
I've been lurking around this forum now and again for a few years now but have recently taken on my 3rd XJ and for the first time a bit of a project. I bought a 2001 "51" XJR 100 a couple of years ago with the plan of bringing it back to its original glory and showing it (eventually).
I've had a '99 3.2 XJ Sport (my first Jag) and an '03 X350 XJR but the X308 is my first love so that's why I've gone back and found a keeper.
The car is sound overall but has starship miles - 193k! It's got a full service book and loads of history with only 2 owners. Mechanically it's fine, I've had her compression tested and all is great, I've upgraded the supercharger belts/pulleys to the newer spec and completed a full major service complete with plugs, leads and gearbox oil change. She's on the original engine but had a recon gearbox at 130k miles.
The stuff to sort is mostly cosmetic but there are a few niggles (external boot release button not working, seized book lock when using key, headlining gone etc) and of course there is a bit of rust here and there to sort out!
Anyway I'm really looking forward to being part of the forum, it's a great place to share and hopefully I'll be able to contribute too.
Cheers!

Welcome to the forum MrTall,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.Amazing your X308 has only had 2 owners in 193k miles.
As a long term lurker, there's no need for any links from me.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
