Hi;

Just purchased a 1982 XJ6 Vanden Plas. Interior is rough. Exterior is very good. Problem is no spark. current flows to distributor and stops. hoping for some help with this as a first step and of course will share my experience.

Welcome Larry, and congrats on the purchase. The XJ6 guys will assist you in getting your problems sorted; and once they are, you'll have one heck of a good time in this car.

Enjoy the ride and the forum,
Scott

Welcome, I'm in Dallas, TX> No spark out of the dizzy will probably mean a cap or rotor.

Default Thank you

Thank you for the very nice welcomes.

i have discovered that my no spark was a result of the ICM having been removed form the car. it is supposed to be attached to the front of the intake manifold. all i find there is two apx. 3/8" holes for bolts to attach the Ignition Control Module. Problem now is finding one i can affort. they seem to run between $200 and $300. any ideas??

Thanks again
Larry

Hey Larry! Welcome aboard. I'm a Texan-by-marriage (the result of my search for the legendary Southern belle back in the '70s). Really good move on my part! I'd suggest re-posting your question over on the XJ6 & XJ12 forum, and checking with some of the vendors who support the Forum. Hope you find what you need.

There's an 84 XJ6 in the pick'n'pull in South Dallas
5301 S 2nd Avenue
Dallas, TX 75210 US

Should be able to get your part for about $30.
