New member (Tony) & 1989 Jaguar Sovereign owner.
I live on the side of Mount Cootha in the heart of Brisbane; the Capital City of Queensland Australia.
I stumbled on the Jaguar in a Facebook car sales group. The story is worth telling because it was owned & loved by an Old Aussie who went to the Philippines to die (apparently), with his Philippino wife and her family. I got it for a song ($1,500) because there was so many superficial malfunctions; and because he was in a hurry to catch the airplane. He offered it to a friend ly attendant at his Gold Coast Petrol Station. Then went around the back to “Classic Cars”, and left it with the Manager; promising to email him from the Philippines. We never heard from him again. I responded to the Add; and when I put the money down, there were 22 people around Australia wanting the Jaguar. All the shockies were clunking & clanging; and only the drivers door worked properly. And when I drove it home for an hour & a half; fuel was leaking out of the gauge sender Bung in the middle of the Tank.
So I fixed all that; & refreshed the Brakes.
Now...I can’t get the bloody thing to start; except when the sun is hot..lol.
If that is solved; I will be a Jaguar lover forever

Welcome to the forum Tony,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've found your way to the XJ40 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the Australia - Queensland Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...queensland-92/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
