Default New member xkr 2008 ...

Hi all

I'm new on here, I have an XKR 2008 I live in the south west of the UK and have been the owner of this lovely car for about 20 months ...

I have made a post regarding my possible catalytic converter issue but am checking the codes with the dealer to ensure what's what ,,,

In simple terms the engine warning light came on I took car to dealer who said there were several codes, one was cat2 , one was a sensor and one was engine temp, .... I did have a temp light flash on once just after buying the car but it was on for minutes then gone never to return so I'm sure that's not the issue

After going to dealer last week they reset the ECU light was out for about 80 miles then came back one so off to Dealer with car next week to get codes and will go from there ..... More news as it comes .... They were sure it was catalytic converters and said they recommend doing both along with spark plugs ??

Cheers all

Welcome to the forum Brittlebones,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I know you've already found your way to the XK/XKR tech section so there's no need for a link to it from me.

I'll be interested to hear the codes they find. They could well be right it's failed Cats but I'll be surprised if they would guarantee that replacement will eradicate the faults!

If they are charging each time, you'll find a code reader is going to save you a lot of money on diagnostics.

Enjoy the forums.
