I recently sold my 1973 Triumph TR6 that I had progressively restored over 9 years and had fun with in car shows and club tours. I wanted a more modern Sports/Luxury car as my wife did not appreciate the "comforts" of the Triumph nor the issues with a "restoration". Initially, I looked into Aston Martin DB9's but since we live in the middle of Iowa, the service aspect of a DB9 was a little daunting. This is when I turned to the Jaguar F-Type. A friend in our local British Car Club let me try out his 2014 F-Type V8 convertible. It was a wonderful car! After doing some research, we decided on a later model in the F-Type line and found a one owner '21 V6 Coupe with AWD in Texas that was nicely equipped. Caldera Red with the panoramic moonroof, red brake calipers, and ebony Windsor leather interior, including the heated/cooled Sports seats, leather headliner, leather sun-visors, and a black exterior package, blind spot assist, powered tailgate, park assist, interior luxury pack, and red seat belts.
The Jaguar dealer had gone through the car, installed new Pirelli tires, performed 4 wheel alignment, changed the oils, filters, batteries, and fluids, and "certified" the car. The nice part of the deal was they added 2 years to the factory warranty. Driving it home to Iowa it was a great opportunity to learn the features and operation of the car. Though our weather here is not quite spring-like, we have had several nice drives in this Jaguar and we are very happy with it. It is a good time for the heated seats and heated steering wheel! These are but a few of the comforts that my trusty Triumph did not offer.
Forums for the Triumph were invaluable for solving repair/restoration/parts problems and a good way to communicate with people with similar interests and share ideas and experience. I am very pleased to have found a similar Jaguar forum and look forward to participating.
It was a neat little convertible for picnics and outings. She sported her original Pimento Red body color and the seldom seen Chestnut brown interior.

This was my first view of what was to become our new "fun" car. Caldera Red body, ebony interior, and black exterior pack. I liked the wheels on this car, new Pirellis, and no scuffs!
Cheers!

Thanks for your welcome note. I must say that Carpathian Grey with a Pimento/Ebony interior is pretty attractive also. I was really happy when I found my car. We have had a great time driving it around. It is pretty sporty. I'm glad that I now own a Jaguar!
Thanks for the compliment on the wicker picnic hamper from my TR6. My wife often told me that was her favorite part of the Triumph. When I would show the car in AACA (Antique Auto Club of America) car shows, unfortunately, I had to remove the hamper or there would be deductions, as it was not factory equipment. However, whenever I brought the TR6 to a British car show, I ALWAYS had the wicker hamper in place. When we won Best-Of-Show at the Vintage Triumph Register national meet last year in LaCrosse, WI, the hamper was there for all to enjoy.
The bubbly has to go in its own separate iced cooler!
Cheers, Front cover of the Vintage Triumph Register club magazine. If you look carefully, you can see the wicker hamper on the trunk rack!

Great reply mate. Saw an identical wicker picnic hamper strapped to the slope-back of a beautiful sky blue Porsche roadster many years ago at a car show. Your TR6 evoked the memory. Fancy the AACA frowning on such a bespoke bastion of English Summer getaways. Gadzooks!!!
But then, I'm told that an English Summer occurs on only one gazetted Tuesday each year, eh?
