Cool new to the site

Greetings everyone,
I am new to this blog, I am hoping to get some advice on the right car to buy, I have lusting over a XJ third series, now I finally have space in my garage and are ready to buy one.
Before I just jump at the first car I like, I wanted to see if anyone on this site could please suggest the proper year / model.
I am a bit afraid of the V12 so maybe best stay with the 6 cyl.
Any pitfalls or know issues ?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all.

Welcome to the Forums.

There is a heap of info in the "stickies" at the top of the XJ6/12 S1/2/3 Tech Section.

I am V12 biased, and will leave it at that.

The 6cyl is a little bit simpler.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums classiccarguy,

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-i-ii-iii-16/ to the XJ6 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. If you have reliability concerns, the later X300 is probably the most robust Jaguar every built. See https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xjr6-x300-26/ forum. You can also use the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums and the search for "your" Jaguar.

Graham
