Question New VDP owner

Hi! Im new to the forum. I purchased a 2007 van dan plaas XJ8 about a year ago. Last week an air suspension fault error appeared on the dash. When I got home I realized that the back of the vehicle had dropped down very low. This morning I took it to the mechanic and the error on the dash now reads that the vehicle is too low.

Mechanic says I need to get air a conversion kit for the air shocks.

Thoughts?

Welcome to the Forums.

OOPS.

The X350 Tech Section will have various answers.

New struts is keeping the car original.

A company called Arnott, sponsor this site, do a conversion kit as your mechanic mentioned. Good or not so, I dont know.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Karon,

It's Vanden Plas - an old English coachbuilder taken over by Jaguar many years ago who have subsequently used the name for their top specification models.

Suspension is a regular issue on this model. Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/ to the X350 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also uset the US Mid Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-mid-atlantic-65/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

So I took the dive and converted the shocks. Of course, the ride isn’t the same but at least I won’t have to deal with that issue again for a while (or at least I hope).

Thanks for all of the feedback, and welcomes.

PS- I have a new, unrelated issue. Will create new thread. Any and all feedback appreciated.

Karon,

Always good to hear the outcome. Too many members don't bother to come back with the end of the story. I think you made the best choice going with the conversion.

Graham
