Default Newb from the Catskills

Hi all!
Name is Rich and I'm a chairlift mechanic at a fairly lage ski area in the Catskill mtns of New York State. Been driving Subarus for almost 20 years now and figured it's time for a change.Got two of them currently,a 99 Impreza sport for my winter ride and a modded 04 WRX for summer fun.
Want something more comfortable with awd/manual trans and have looked at Audi's,BMW's,Lincoln's,and Mercedes-Benz's but I really want a x-type Jaguar. They are more in my price bracket and seem to have reasonable reliability.
Looking on line I can only find 2 or 3 in a 200 mile radius! And only 1 from a dealer with good ratings, however I'm leary of it's clutch. It just didn't feel right. Put a deposit on it last Friday and now I'm having 2nd thoughts. The price is good for a vehicle with 70K miles on it,but don't want(nor can I really afford) to spend another 2K$ for a clutch transplant.
Maybe I'll just keep looking.

Welcome to the forum Rich,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you have already found your way to the X-Type tech section with the clutch question so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the US North East Region forum by following this link North East US - ME NH VT MA RI CT NJ NY PA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
