Hi to All
New boy to the Jag forum,i was searching this site to find info on electric seat wiring for a 1998 S TYPE Electric Heated seats.
These forums are a fantastic way to gather info for all manner of things and it never ceases to amaze me the willingness of members to share there knowledge.
I would be most grateful if somebody can assist in directing me into the correct way to power up these seats, it looks to me as if the main wires were just chopped off when the seats were removed, the main loom connection blocks are still in place, the controls to operate the seats are on the side panels, i also understand the seats are heated so do i need the original control switch to operate the heating.

Welcome to the forum ral,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you are fitting the heated seats from an S-Type into another S-Type as an upgrade or into another type of vehicle?

A photo of the seat undersides will get the best advice as members will be able to tell what's missing from the harness.

Follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK Region forum by following this link UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

ral, thank you joining up here. We're pleased to have you! Please enjoy this forum. There is so much to explore and learn about Jaguars. It's a great place to socialize and learn things about one's Jaguar that might not be found in a book.

You enjoy yourself, Louis

Thank for the welcome Graham
I Have found some wire diagrams at Jaguar parts and Land rover parts new used and remanufactured, just need to get my head round whats what in the dark side of wiring to establish if i can get the seats up and running.
You are correct in that i am not retro fitting to a Jag, i am looking to fit into my VW T5.

ral,

The JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information System) Workshop Manual has the full set of electrical schematics and information on the seat removal/install/controls.

If it would be useful, you can download it from this link:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...rchives-65926/

The whole thing or just individual model sections is free to download.
