Hi, I'm a retired gunsmith from Colorado originally, now a resident of Washington state. Always been an XJS fan and am now acquiring a rebuild able car so will have lots of questions for you folks. I've had a Ferrari and 16 Datsun Z cars so this is my first experience into the Jag world so please have patience with me, I may have some dumb questions.

Welcome Dick. Check out our Northwest Section as we have a lot going on this summer. Or next summer, depending on how your build comes along

Welcome to the forum Dick,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums.

The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Northwest Region section by following Jay's link in post #2 to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Dick,

About 250 miles?

I'm 12 years younger than you but would still have to put it on a flatbed!

Thanks GGG, yes I can handle the job, am picking it up tomorrow the 13th, using a UHaul car carrier, dolly is okay but not sure of the cars rear end so opted for the carrier. Glad to finally get it home, it has a frozen water pump and leaks oil, will pull the belt off as I want to hear it run before I plunk down the money! Guy says it runs good....been awhile since I've heard a V12 run, may bring back tears and memories!

Dick,

Good to hear you've got the transportation arranged. I hope it runs as the vendor describes.

Let us know when you get it safely back home.

Got it home okay, much better condition than was advertised. Drove it on and off the trailer, sounds good. Drove it up the road this morning, a real runner! V12 fuel injection, no smoke, clean as a pin inside, Pirellis look good, glass is good, paint a little faded in places, been sitting a couple years.

Great news.

It's not too often we get posts saying 'much better than advertised' about any used Jaguar! Let's see some photos.

Some of the dash info lights are on all the time and the radio doesn't work, but lights do. Will post a pic soon.

Was it it this thread:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...leased-100731/

If not, let me have the thread title and I'll see if it's been moved.

Yes, that was the thread, don't know why they would move it, seemed like a reasonable question for the Tech forum.
Thanx for your help Graham,
Dick C.
