Thanks for your posts and dedication to the page - they have been very helpful in my newly acquired early example of a BRG X308. Found something a little unsettling which would be keen for some eyes and advice on - a crack in what looks to be the front sway bar?
Is this common, or a relatively easy fix - the car was purchased with the plan on having a health check, I'm annoyed I missed this upon viewing, i was too busy fiercely checking sills wheel arches and the more common rust spots (which having lived down here in Southern Spain) was quite uneventful.
If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Hello,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
I'm sorry it's already presented you with a problem, but unless Jaguar did something Really outlandish for your model, replacement of that sway bar shouldn't be all that hard.
You'll need to find an Uncracked one of course, and all the mounting bushings and stuff, but members with experience will be able to walk you right through the process.
To be honest it has been a joy so far - the service history is fabulous, timing chain tensioners done, regular servicing, diff, suspension, bearings etc, updated water pump.thermostat housing (I have been trying to translate certain service items from Spanish to English but a number of SNG Barratt and Berkshire Jag invoices to count in there too) no rust in the usual spots even has the full factory toolkit under the bonnet - last owner a careful Scotsman (whom I hope shares the same ethos as my frugal Scottish grandfather that you should buy once, buy well and maintain)
198,000km on the clock which I hope to pay forward as best I can, she set me back 5,000 EUR (a good exchange rate day put be around the 4kGBP mark) which for a LHD second hand car of this calibre in Spain is a fine deal - the UK halcyon prices of these kicking about for 1-2k just don't apply down here for cars of this calibre, or any for that matter so have some funds set aside for some works needed and am sure will be able to recoup whatever is put in given the bullish market down here for second hand cars. A battered old 206 from the noughties would set you back the same, and I know what I'd rather be smoking around in!
