Default Newbie to the forum, just purchased my 3rd Jag...

I've lurked for a while, simply because a lot of the questions I ever had have been answered here a million times over. You guys know it all.

I have previously owned a 1990 XJ6, and a 1997 XJR. I always coveted my friend's pristine 1975 XJ12C; and was determined to own a 12 cylinder Jag someday. Problem is, most of the ones I have come across fit into one of two categories... Too rusty, or too expensive.

I came across my newly acquired '87 XJS at an auction (I'm a car dealer) and after looking it over, determined that it was coming home with me despite the fact that it ran somewhat poorly. I know it's a long road ahead, but it is a beautiful, 99% rust free car. Even though I know I shouldn't have driven it (it overfuels pretty badly) I took it a mile down the road to the gas station... and people practically mobbed me to ask questions. My Corvette doesn't get this much attention.

Anyway, hope to get it back in order and learn a few things... so I can enjoy it as much as I did my previous Jaguars. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum dblakez06,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums. The XJ12C is the one that's always escaped me for the same reasons.

It sounds like you probably already know your way around and I can see you've already posted in the XJS section so no need for a link from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Mid West Region section by following this link Mid West US - IL IN IA MI MN MO OH WI - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Welcome dblakez06:

And greetings from the Midwest Region. Congrats on the 'new' car and best of luck on the repairs. Sounds like you've found a worthy car to have the attention paid to it. I'm sure you'll enjoy it for years to come!

Cheers,
Scott
