Default Newly Purchased Stratstone Le Mans XFR

Hi

I'm fortunate enough to have recently joined the world of big cats by purchasing a 60 plate XFR Le Mans edition in white (it is #9 of 50). It's the biggest, fastest and most comfortable thing I've owned, having come from the world of Japanese imports and briefly flirted with German convertibles. I have 5 vehicles at the moment but need to shift some of them on to pay for the XFR! The Jag has been a bit neglected by a previous owner but I am working through getting it back to the condition it deserves.

I'm based near Milton Keynes in the UK. Looking forward to attending some meets this year and taking the Le Mans edition to Le Mans in the summer.

Cheers everyone I should have a working signature now! Thus far I have fixed a problem with the paddles which meant the car would not go into dynamic mode - this was caused by a previous owner getting the steering wheel reupholstered and not assembling it properly, so the contacts for the paddles did not meet up properly. The car is only half the fun with no paddles and no dynamic mode! I've replaced the passenger front door actuator which necessitated window glass removal, and I've had some damage to the leather on the dash professionally repaired where some idiot had previously fitted a mobile phone holder. Next on the list is taking the alloys to Pristine Wheels for a refurb and a full 100,000 mile service.

Thought I'd update this, 8000 miles since my first post and a year into ownership.

I've had the 100,000 mile service done. It was discovered during this process that the windscreen has been replaced at some point and the person who replaced it used way too much sealant, resulting in gluing the scuttle panel in place. This made it impossible to remove the scuttle panel without some damage to it, in order to get to the rear 2 spark plugs. However the indie I was using did a decent job and you can't really tell it's missing a few clips here and there. It is interesting, it is the heated windscreen (so the really expensive to replace one!) and still has all the Stratstone stickers on it, so I assume it was done at Stratstone. I had the gearbox serviced w/a new sump while they were in there, and it also needed the boot wiring loom replacing as it was breaking down in the hinge, causing the rear lights in the lid to misbehave. Also replaced the boot vents that are underneath the rear lights, as they were letting water in to the boot! I repaired some wiring in the driver's side rear door that was preventing the lock button on that handle from working properly. Then I took it to Le Mans!

Since then I've retrofitted DAB and a heated steering wheel, and I have re-enabled voice control, thanks to RegGraham on here. The air intake pipe fell to pieces as did one of the plastic coolant pipes and the driver's side window regulator, so I've replaced them. No big deal in a performance car of the age. Unfortunately my plan of taking the wheels to Pristine Wheels isn't going to happen as they have ceased trading Also planning some more retrofits! I've done the research and know what's required to do the big B&O sound system and Adaptive Cruise Control. They are jobs for next year. Also going to see what happens if I fit + enable AHB from an X351, as it wasn't something the pre-facelift X250 could have.

You've had more than your fair share of repairs in the first year but your post suggests it hasn't dulled your enthusiasm at all.

Fitted a heated steering wheel! I've never even switched mine on.

Haha, I've used mine every day in the last 2 weeks. I've moved somewhere cold though, and I have really crap circulation so my hands and feet are always freezing! It's perfect for me.

Enthusiasm not dampened one bit
