2000 Jaguar Vandenplas Base . No start after starting car and only running 30 seconds. Question: put 1/2 teaspoon of oil in cylinders, was it enough or what is the right amount?

Welcome to the forum Jerry,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum with this question so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

I didn't find a repost of your problem in the x308 forum for the no start. Before going to all of the trouble of removing plugs and adding oil try this. It works quite well for Bore Wash.

Hold the accelerator on the floor. This shuts off fuel to the injectors. With the pedal on the floor turn the engine over like trying to start for about 10 seconds. Do this 3 times with the pedal on the floor.
On the 4th time with the pedal on the floor turn the key for starting and slowly let the pedal rise. It should start up fine. Others have had to do the pedal on the floor up to 5 times while cranking but it will start.
